TOEFL Exam App Launched by Educational Testing Services (ETS)

The conducting body has released a new official online application for TOEFL exam for the benefit of the candidates.

       Newly released application will facilitate easy online registration and preparation process for the aspirates whilst being accommodative of the differently-abled students. The ETS board along with the app launch have also announced that they would be publishing the TOEFL scores in 6 days. Previously, the score was released after 10-day period from the date of commencement of the exam.

The Executive Director of the TOEFL Program, Srikant Gopal further elaborated and stated that ETS is continuing to search for ways to transform the TOEFL experience for the students and institutions alike. The TOEFL application is meant to provide students with a convenient and streamlined way to access various components of the test experience at the tip of their fingers on their mobile devices.

Test of English as a Foreign Language or TOEFL is a standardized test for accessing English language proficiency of non-native speakers seeking to take admission in English speaking universities. The scores of TOEFL are accepted by more than 10,000 institutions in over 150 countries across the world. Some of the popular English-speaking countries accepting TOEFL test scores include the United States, Canada, UK, New Zealand, Australia, etc.

TOEFL exam evaluates the candidate’s English language proficiency. If a candidate wishes to pursue higher education in Foreign countries and is non-native English speaker then he/she can take this exam.

Educational Testing Service (ETS) is Conducting Authority for TOEFL and administrates all processes regarding the exam. ETS is an US-based non-profit organization. ETS provides various tools to promote educational progress and these tools are used globally.

More than 10,000 colleges, universities and organizations recognize this exam. It is also recognized by other participating institutes across 150 countries, including Australia, Canada, the UK and the United States.

ETS conducts TOEFL more than 50 times a year at 4500 test centres in 165 countries worldwide and candidates can sit for the exam as many times they want but cannot attend two exams in three days time period.

TOEFL score remains valid for 2 years from the date of exam. There is no limit to the number of times anyone can attend the test. But you can retake TOEFL Exams only  after 3 days from the previous test date. If you have already booked a test then you cannot register for one more test within 3 days of the previously booked test. 

The difficulty level of TOEFL is that of high school or in Indian standards, it will be that of 10+2 levels. TOEFL test time is 3 Hours, it was scaled down to 3 hours from 3.5 hours. In the exam, some sections may take a longer time for one candidate compared to another. This is because in the reading section duration will vary between 54 to 72 minutes and listening section time duration will varies from 41 to 57 minutes.

This exam is a Descriptive type exam with no negative marking. You can take advantage of this by attempting all tasks. Applicants can take the test in both online and offline mode.
