TN Board SSLC and HSE Plus One Students to be Promoted Without Final Exams

Gujarat Government to Conduct Gujarat Class 12 Board Exams from 1 July

The Tamil Nadu State Government has declared that TN SSLC and HSE Plus One exams for 2021 are cancelled this year, along with the annual school exams for class 9. The TN Govt has said that students of class 9, 10 and 11 will be promoted to the next academic year without final exams. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today, i.e. on 25 February 2021. This decision was taken due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and the academic loss of students during online classes.

The previous year also, students were promoted to the next academic grade without final exams due to the ongoing pandemic. Keeping the safety and health measures in mind, the state government has decided to cancel the final exams of class 9, 10 and 11 and promote them to the next academic grade. However, students in classes 10 and 12 will have to appear for their board exams, which will be conducted in May 2021. Students can check the time table for SSC and HSC exams on the Tamil Nadu board’s official website.

Tamil Nadu CM Palaniswami said that they have consulted medical experts and other stakeholders and made the final decision. He said that the current situation is not good enough to conduct the TN board SSLC & HSE Plus One exam as per the medical experts. And hence, the state government decided to cancel the examination of class 9, 10 and 11, keeping the students’ health, safety, and well-being as its top priority.
