This is the first time in the history of the university that it will be conducting a computer-based mode of entrance examination.
The JNUEE for admission is be conducted from May 27 to May 30, 2019. The entire examination process will be executed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Although there was strong opposition from the faculty and students alike regarding the university’s shift towards an MCQ test. JNU is primarily known for its arts and humanities programs.
The 2019 JNUEE exam is being held in nearly 127 centers across the country. The NTA also said that the JNUEE and Combined Entrance Examination for Biotechnology (JNU CEEB) is being held for a total of 142 study programs respectively. On all 3 days, the exam will be held in two shifts, the morning one between 9.30 a.m.-12.30 pm and the afternoon exam from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm in 122 cities across the nation.
The NTA in its maiden test for JNU has taken numerous steps for the successful conduction of the examination. For instance, each center has been provided with jammers and a total of 1,400 jammers have been deployed for the cause. A total of 122 city coordinators have been deployed for exam duty. The 2019 edition has a total of 1,16,558 candidates appearing for the exams (67,801 males and 48,751 females). The admissions are being held for a total of 3,383 seats including 1,043 for MPhil and Ph.D. courses respectively.
