Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has declared that the TBSE Madhyamik exam 2021 for class 10 students and Tripura HS exam 2021 for class 12 students will be conducted only for the main subjects. This decision was taken considering the COVID-19 situation in the state.
Dr. Bhabatosh Saha, Tripura Board President, announced that they decided to hold class 10 exams on three major subjects. Class 12 exams will also feature a select amount of subjects, depending on the prevailing situation. The final decision will be announced in June 2021. The three subject exams to be held for class 10 students will be English, Mathematics, and Science. Additionally, no final selection of subjects has been made for class 12 yet.
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath has discussed this prioritization of papers in an interview. Due to the pandemic situation, he affirmed it wouldn’t be possible to hold every paper for Madhamik (matriculation) and senior secondary grades. However, he added that students would be informed about the exam in a 15-day prior notice. Earlier, Tripura Board class 10 and 12 exams were to be held on 18 May 2021 and 19 May 2021, respectively. However, the exams were postponed due to the rising COVID-19 cases within the state.
