Symbiosis Medical College for Women, Pune, popularly known as SMCW, has released a notification regarding the undergraduate admission into medical courses. Women who qualified the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET 2020) must keep an eye on SMCW’s official website for the latest updates. Admissions for approximately 150 MBBS seats of the institutions will be done on the basis of the MCI guidelines.
Application Forms are Now Live
Since the declaration of the NEET 2020 Result, many medical institutions who grant admission to candidates based on the NEET scores have started gearing up for the admissions procedure. Although MCC has not yet commenced the counselling session for NEET qualified candidates, the guidelines are already out.
Following this trend, SMCW has rolled out the application forms for the women candidates for MBBS admission. Candidates who achieve the cut-off set by the institute will be eligible to apply for admission. In addition to this, candidates also need to deposit INR 10,00,000 as the annual fee. A timely deposition would ensure the admission of the candidate to the course.
SMCW Selection Criteria
Interested candidates must have an idea of the selection criteria which the medical institution follows. Female candidates will only be selected if they fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
- All admissions to the MBBS Programme at SMCW will be done as per the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) merit rank achieved by the candidates.
- 100% seats for MBBS will be filled by admission counselling conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS)/ Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) at SMCW/ SIU.
- 85% seat from General Category and 15% seats from NRI Category students shall be filled the for the academic year 2020-21.
