The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India released an official notification dated 16 March 2021 stating that students will have to fill out fresh applications for the May 2021 session. The official notification is available on the official website. Even the students who opted out of the November session to appear for the May session will have to file fresh applications.
According to the official notification issued, “Candidates who opted out of the November 2020 session to appear for the Chartered Accountants Foundation, Intermediate (IPC), Intermediate and Final Examinations along with Post Qualification Course Examinations which is Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) Technical Examination and International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT-AT) in the May 2021 session are required to fill fresh examination applications for the May 2021 Examination Cycle.”
The notification also states that the application fee for candidates who opted out of the November cycle will be adjusted. Such candidates will only have to pay the difference of both sessions in case of group or category change. The application form for the May session of ICAI CA 2021 will be released on 31 March 2021. The last day to fill out the application form is 13 April 2021. The ICAI CA Inter and Final Course exams are scheduled to begin on 22 May 2021. While the CA Foundation course exams will commence on 24 June 2021.
