SPPU to Begin Online Classes for 1st Year PG Students from Today

As per the official declaration made by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SSPU), the first-year postgraduate (PG) courses is going to start from today. The notification regarding the commencement of classes was released late at night on Monday. All the university departments along with the affiliated colleges and institutions for the academic year 2020-21 will commence the online classes from today.

The first semester classes will commence from 28 January 2021 to 22 May 2021 and the second-semester classes will commence from 15 June to 1 October. The classes will start for all the programs that are offered by the university. All the programs and classes will be conducted online until further notice, due to the pandemic situation in the country.

The state and central government has given nod to the universities, colleges, and schools to reopen as they were closed due to the pandemic. The authorities have issued detailed precautionary guidelines and SOP’s that are strict to be followed by all the educational institutions on reopening the physical classes. The classes will be conducted in online mode and physical classes will begin only after considering the situation in the respective states and districts.

Meanwhile, the SSPU has also issued a notice to the final year students staying in hostels. The notification stated that out of 1469 students, 500 students are still in hostel rooms while 900 students have vacated their rooms. The students left are requested to vacate the hostel as stated in the official notice.
