Schools and Colleges in Pune to Remain Closed Until 14 March 2021

Pune district administration has decided to extend the lockdown restrictions, as per the latest reports. The administration has decided to impose a night curfew in the district until 14 March 2021 due to rising COVID-19 cases. Therefore, as per the official announcement, all schools will remain closed in the district until mid-March. All schools and colleges are already closed until 28 February 2021 and will remain further closed until 14 March 2021 as announced by the district administration. 

In Maharashtra,  COVID-19 cases are on the rise from the past two weeks, due to which, authorities have imposed localised preventive measures and lockdowns to reduce the spread of the contagion. Hence, the Pune district administration has decided to take the necessary preventive steps such as imposing night curfews and enforcing school closures along with restrictions on public movement in the city for the time being. The divisional commissioner has said that only essential service providers are allowed for night time movement. 

The administration has taken certain measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19: 

  • Night curfew in the entire state from 11 pm to 6 am.
  • All schools and colleges to remain closed until 14 March 2021
  • Strict implementation and adherence to COVID-19 guidelines and measures
  • Strict action is to be taken against those who are not following SOPs.
