Punjab School Education Board Postpones Class 10 & 12 Exams

On Monday, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has postponed the final exams of classes X and XII due to rising cases of COVID-19. Punjab is witnessing a sudden increase in COVID-19 cases from the last few weeks. The exams have been postponed from April to May; that is a month later. As per the new schedule, class 10 exams will commence from 4 May 2021 instead of 9 April 2021. While the class 12 exams will begin on 20 April 2021 instead of 22 March 2021. The exams for both classes will end on 24 May 2021. Besides the board exams, compartments and re-appearing exams are also postponed.

Mehrok said, “All the DEO’s, Principals, and Head of Schools have been informed about the change in the examination schedule. The examination of class V and VII will be conducted as per schedule (16 March 2021 and 22 March 2021, respectively). Only Matric and +2 class’s examinations are rescheduled with effect from 20 April 2021 to 4 May 2021.” Mehrok also added that around 6.40 lakh students from classes 10 and 12 are appearing for the exam this year.
