Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UPSEE 2020, the state-level engineering entrance exam, has been postponed by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) until September 20, 2020. It was earlier scheduled to be conducted on August 2, 2020 but has now been postponed to September. The decision was taken after NTA postponed the JEE Main and NEET exams. Question paper format
All question papers (except part B of paper-3) will consist of objective multiple-choice questions.
Medium of examination
Question papers for undergraduate admissions (except Part B paper-3) will be available both in Hindi and English. But in case of ambiguity, the English version will be considered final. Part B of Paper-3 can be answered either in English or in Hindi. But in all cases, the Standard English numerals must be used.
OMR methodology will be used to evaluate all the answers of Paper 1 to 8. Every correct answer will fetch 4 marks. There is no negative marking. However, a record of the wrong answers will be maintained separately. Candidates are supposed to select only one option for each question. If multiple choices are selected, it will be deemed as an incorrect answer.
Handling of answer sheets
Answers should only be marked using ballpoint pen (blue or black).
Reason behind postponement of UPSEE 2020
This is the second time UPSEE 2020 has been postponed. According to the circular issued on April 8, 2020 the exam was scheduled to be conducted on May 10, 2020. But it was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This time the rescheduling is due to the postponement of JEE Main and NEET exams to September.
About UPSEE 2020
Consequently, upon the provisions of Government order dated 15-01-2020, APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University ( AKTU) has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting degree level entrance examinations. The Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Technical Education Department has granted approval to the Constitution Central Admission Board (CAB) to regulate UPSEE 2020 (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) conducted by AKTU.
