Osmania University to host Convocation after 6 years

Scheduled to be held on the 17th of June 2019, it will also be marked as the 80th Convocation ceremony of the university.

The University administration has announced via an official press release that it will be hosting the annual convocation for the batch passing out this year after a gap of 6 years. Around 300 scholars will be felicitated with Gold Medals at the Osmania University Convocation Event. A total of 2,896 university scholars have earned their P.hD degree between 2012 and 2019. Out of these, a total of 1800 students have already happened to collect their Ph.D. degree.

Professor S Chandrasekhar, Director of the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology and an alumnus of the Department of Chemistry from Osmania University, will be the chief guest of honor. Convocation function. He will be felicitating the graduation honors whilst delivering the convocation address. He will be accompanied by the Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, ESL Narasimhan. Other senior officials and university management will also be present for the convocation function.

The university has opened registrations for convocation where any student who has passed their exam between July 2012 and June 2018 is eligible for their degrees for the forthcoming convocation. To register, candidates can visit the official university website of osmania.ac.in. Apart from the completion of the registration, the interested candidate is supposed to deposit a fee of Rupees 500 by 16th of May 2019. The application deadline for the convocation happens to be the 11th of June 2019.

Osmania University is a public university located in University town, Hyderabad, India. It has been named after the founder of the university, Nawab Osman Ali Khan who was the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad. The University was officially instated through a Royal Charter in the year 1918. It happens to be the seventh oldest university in India and the third oldest one in southern India.
