National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) result will be declared today on the 18th of June 2019 at 5 pm IST.
The result was earlier scheduled to be declared on June 17 but due to some technical issues, it was delayed. NEST 2019 was conducted at multiple centers pan India on the June 1, 2019.
The entrance exam was conducted in two shifts and different sets of question papers were used for each session. Hence, student’s raw scores will be converted to percentile score. In addition to SMAS, a candidate is required to score equal to or above a total Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP), to get a merit rank.
Steps to Download NEST 2019 Results
The steps to download the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) result of 2019 are as follows
- Visit the official NEST exam website nestexam.in
- On the homepage, select “NEST 2019 Result” link
- Enter roll number, date of birth and other login credentials
- Click on the Login button to proceed
- The result will display on the screen. Download it
- Take a printout/copy of the results for further reference
NEST Exam Cut off Details
A candidate must score equal to or more than the respective SMAS in the general section as well as in all four subject sections. SMAS stands for ‘Section–wise’ Minimum Admissible Score and it is equivalent to section-wise cut–off marks.
Candidates, based on the cut off decided will be called for counselling which will be offline only. After verification of documents and payment of fees, the admission will be given to the candidate.
NEST Exam 2019 Counselling
The counselling is expected to be held in the month of July. However, aspirants must wait for official notification. Counselling will be based on the merit/rank list and availability of seats. NEST 2019 Counselling will take place in two rounds. It is intended to fill the seats in the two participating institutes NISER and UM-DAE CEBS.
In related news, all the students admitted to NISER, Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai will receive an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000 through the INSPIRE program of the Department of Science and Technology. In addition, the scholarship recipients receive a grant of Rs 20,000 per annum for the summer internship. Alumni of the program are presently pursuing Ph.D. at the top universities and institutes in India and abroad.
National Entrance Screening Test
The full form of NEST is the National Entrance Screening Test. This is a national level entrance test for candidates seeking admission to the 5-year Integrated MSc Program in Basic Sciences and Mathematics. There are two participating institutions in this exam. Aspirants who clear NEST 2019 Cut-off can get admission into the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar. Both NISER and UM-DAE CEBS were set up by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in the year 2007.
