The NTA had canceled the exams in the state of Odisha due to Cyclone Fani. On the other hand, the students from North Karnataka who missed the exam will be getting a second chance.
The National Testing Agency will be going ahead with the NEET examination in Odisha and Karnataka on May 20, 2019. The date has now been confirmed by the Education Secretary R. Subrahmanyam. The timings of the Exam along with the examination centers will remain the same. However, a new admit cards will be issued for the students of Odisha shortly.
The notice was released on the website of NTA for the students from Karnataka, Odisha and also West Bengal (Siliguri) who could not appear for the examination due to ‘circumstances beyond their control’. The candidates who missed the examinations from Karnataka and Siliguri must approach their respective city coordinators, the details for which has been given on the official website and submit their grievances along with a documented proof before May 10, 2019, 5.00 PM IST.
Almost 500 plus students from North Karnataka were on board the Hampi Express to reach the examination centers for the NEET Exam. They missed their exam after the train got delayed by six hours. This led to a huge uproar followed by the Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy requesting the railway minister Piyush Goyal and HRD minister Javadekar to conduct re-examination. The NEET UG 2019 examination was conducted Sunday, 5th of May 2019.
