NEET Exam 2021 to be Conducted Twice; Confirmed by Ministries

The Health Ministry has given the nod to conduct NEET Exam 2021 twice. Aspirants will be given the rank as per best of scores in two attempts. However, there is no confirmation yet on conducting the exam online. The NTA has permitted to conduct the exam two times a year, just like the JEE exam held four times a year. This means candidates can appear fit for the exam one or two times as per their choice. For those who appear for both the exams, the ranking will be based on the best of two scores. 

The tentative date for NEET UG is in the 1st week of July. As per the official notifications, the exam syllabus has not been reduced. The Ministry still feels that students might not be prepared for the online exam and hence still have not come to any decision regarding the mode of the exam. Students will be notified soon regarding the mode of examination and other guidelines. Refer to the given table to check the important dates.

NEET Application Form 2021

The application form for the NEET UG exam is expected to be released in February 2021. The National Testing Agency will release the NEET 2021 application form on the official website only. Interested students can fill out the application form online after its release by visiting the official website. Perform the given steps to fill out the application form.

About NEET 2021

The NTA will conduct the test in offline mode, and this year the exam will be conducted twice a year. Refer to the given list to find out the exam pattern. Students can also find the exam pattern and syllabus on the official website.

  • Mode of the exam: The exam mode for the year 2021 is yet to be decided by the authorities. It might be conducted online this year.
  • The total number of questions asked in the exam: There are a total of 180 questions in the NEET exam.
  • The time duration of the exam: NEET is 3 hours long exam.
  • Total marks in the paper: The total marks of NEET exam is 720.
  • Total number of sections in the paper: There are a total of 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry and Biology
  • Language of the question paper: The NEET question papers are framed in 11 languages – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.
  • Marking scheme: Each question carries four marks, and for any wrong attempt, one mark is deducted.
