The University of Mumbai has released the latest notification regarding the conduction of the semester-end examination. According to the notification, all the affiliated colleges of Mumbai University will have to conduct the examination latest by December 2020. The concerned authorities are currently setting the paper pattern as some mandatory changes are required to be incorporated for the next set.
Digital Surveillance by Mumbai University
According to the reports shared by the Mumbai University officials, the varsity will be setting up a high-tech digital surveillance mechanism to combat the possibility of using malpractices. In case a candidate is found resorting to malpractices, the university will hold the right to cancel the examination of the candidate. Also, he/she may be debarred from writing future examinations as well.
In addition to this, Mumbai University will appoint a special surveillance squad which will visit the affiliated colleges conducting the examination ad verify the footage and videos of the candidates writing the examination. In case of any discrepancy found, strict actions will be taken against the candidates.
Changes in Paper Pattern
The Mumbai University officials have informed the media that there will be certain changes in the question paper pattern for the semester-end examination. Although the examination will be held online with multiple-choice type questions (MCQ) only, the number of questions will be increased from the previously given 25. The final draft is under discussion by the examination committee and will inform the candidates accordingly.
Furthermore, for professional courses like engineering and law, the difficulty level of the question paper will be upgraded a notch to suit the stature. Hence, candidates must prepare accordingly.
