Amidst the rapidly rising COVID-19 cases in the country and the subsequent lockdowns in pace, the Madhya Pradesh State Government has decided to postpone MP Board class 10 and the MP class 12 exams. Earlier, there were reports doing the rounds that the class 10 exams have been cancelled while the class 12 exams have been postponed. However, the authorities released a notification clarifying that the exams have only been postponed for both classes 10 and 12. The School Education Department tweeted a circular stating the same.
Earlier, it was mentioned that since the class 10 exams have been cancelled, students will be evaluated and promoted based on a similar criterion used by CBSE. This criterion was aimed at eliminating any unwanted bias or complexity during evaluation. However, with the new circular, the decision on the conduct of class 10 and 12 exams will be taken after a review meeting that will be held in June 2021. Only then the MP Board will give a clear picture of its revised dates or cancellation of the exams after properly assessing the situation at that time.
Several state Board exams, along with CBSE and ICSE exams, have either been postponed or cancelled amidst the soaring cases of COVID-19. Therefore, students are advised that they must keep visiting the board’s official website to stay updated with the latest developments if any.
