Medical, Agricultural And Technological Institutes to Get 5G Labs for Students to Be Industry Ready
The construction of 5G labs in Indian Colleges will help students to have innovative and research-oriented knowledge which in turn will make them industry ready.
5G Labs in Indian Colleges: The Department of Telecommunication (DoT) is setting up 100 5G use case labs across the country in higher education institutes to deploy applications of 5G technology in various socioeconomic verticals. These 5G labs in Medical, Agricultural, And Technological Institutes will provide innovative and research-oriented knowledge to students and keep them industry-ready.
The construction of 5G labs in Indian Colleges has already started in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Sikkim, Manipur, and Mizoram state. To construct these 5G labs, the government will provide 80% of the funds, and institutes must bear the remaining 20% of the cost. As the 5g labs are being built rapidly, it is expected to start functioning by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
As there is a paradigm shift in technology and connectivity, the 5G network will play a pivotal role in building faster and more reliable connectivity in the coming days. Hence, the implementation of 5G in the education sector will help students to get hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, research opportunities, and collaborative learning. One's technical skills will be improved if proper training is given at the college level to make them industry-ready.
Implementation of 5G labs in Indian colleges of Agriculture and Medical science will help in inventing new solutions, innovative products, and ideas. Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Christian Institute of Health Science and Research, Nagaland, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Bihar, and Indian Agricultural Research Institutions, Delhi, will soon have 5G labs set up in the country.
Various experts and Institutional heads have welcomed this initiative of the centre, and they feel that 5G labs will not only benefit the institutes but also have broader has various benefits for education, industry, medicine, and the nation's technological development.
