    MCC Releases Notice Regarding NRI Quota Ahead of NEET 2020 Counselling

    The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a notification on its official website regarding the change in Nationality of the NEET 2020 candidates. The notification is released ahead of the NEET 2020 Counselling Sessions so that candidates are well informed and could avail the facility if they are eligible. To avail the NRI quota, candidates need to have relevant documents which they must mail to the concerned authorities for the prescribed deadline.

    What Does the Official Notification Say

    According to the notification, the candidates who want to change their Nationality from Indian to NRI are eligible to avail the 15% All India Quota for medical seats if they qualify the entrance examination. Candidates who have earlier applied under Indian or other category and now wish to apply under NRI quota must send their relevant documents to the authorities at [email protected] from 21 October 2020 till 23 October 2020 10:00 AM IST. Any amendment request beyond the prescribed deadline shall not be entertained.

    List of Documents Required

    Candidates who wish to apply for the NRI Quota must possess the following documents:

    • NEET 2020 Score Card
    • A document claiming the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa etc.)
    • Relationship of NRI with the candidate
    • A duly notarized affidavit from the sponsorer that they will sponsor the entire course fee of the aspirant.
    • Embassy certificate or certificate from the Consulate of the sponsorer

    Candidates must note that all the documents are authentic and original because they will be subject to verification. In case of detection of fraudulence, the authorities hold the right to cancel the candidature of the candidate and even debar him/her from taking up future examinations.

    MCC will begin the counselling process soon. The entire process is supposed to be conducted online to ensure the safety of the candidates. Strict scrutiny processes will be incorporated; hence, candidates must follow the rules and regulations laid down by MCC to the best of abilities to avoid any hassle.
