The Karnataka Examinations Authority, or KEA, has released the KCET 2021 eligibility criteria on its official website. Authorities have also released the official brochure for the KCET exam. This year, the KEA has relaxed the minimum marks required to appear for the exam. Earlier, candidates with a minimum of 45% in the qualifying examination were eligible to apply for the KCET exam.
Candidates appearing in the KCET 2021 exam need to meet all the eligibility criteria before filling out the KCET application form 2021. Additionally, any candidate qualifying for class 12 or PUC can apply for the KCET exam.
KCET 2021 Qualifications
Candidates qualifying or awaiting their class 12 or PUC exam can apply for the KCET exam 2021. Applicants qualifying for class 12/PUC from Karnataka State Open University cannot apply for the KCET entrance test. Candidates must have Physics and Mathematics as main subjects during class 12. Additionally, they should have taken Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as their optional subjects and English as a language.
Candidates must have studied for seven years in one or more Government or Government-recognized institutions located in Karnataka. They should have appeared and passed either the class 10 or class 12 Karnataka state board exam. Candidates must have appeared and passed either 1st & 2nd year PUC or class 11 and 12 exams from a recognized institution in Karnataka. Or, the parents must have pursued in Karnataka for at least seven years.
The candidate could be a child of defence personnel working continuously in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year. And during this period, they should have studied PUC/class 11 and 12. Wards of a serving or retired employee of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) will be required to submit proof of his/her domicile. Applicants should submit proof from the Record Office of the Central Armed Police Force unit, where records of the parent’s service are maintained. Additionally, the parents should have mentioned while joining CAPF that their hometown was in Karnataka.
