Going by the latest media reports, the Karnataka SSLC and PUC exam for the year 2021 has been postponed. The state’s Primary and Secondary Education Minister, S Suresh Kumar, confirmed the latest development about the SSLC Exam 2021 for Class 10 and PUC Exam 2021 for Class 12, scheduled earlier for March. This news came across as an excellent respite for students seeking the exams’ postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Several schools were closed since March, and the inflow of education has mostly been online, which was also one reason for exam postponement. Meanwhile, the Education Department plans to reopen the schools for students from class 6 and above from 1 January 2021 onwards. The state government has allowed for the reopening of schools with stringent adherence to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Confirming this development, the State Education Minister S Suresh Kumar issued a statement saying, “The Department of Education is making all preparations for the reopening of schools and colleges, ensuring that the process is safe and sound. The SSLC and PUC exams will not take place in March 2021 due to the shortage of time.”
After consulting with all the stakeholders, the Education Department is expected to finalize the SSLC and PUC exam dates within a week. Students are advised to keep visiting the official website for the latest updates.
