The Union Education Minister announced that the eligibility criteria of 75% for the candidates appearing for JEE Main 2021 for admissions in IIT’s, NIT’s, SPA’s and CFTI’s have been waived. The education minister confirmed the news about waiving the 75% criteria for admissions through his Twitter account.
He mentioned that “Considering the decision taken for IIT JEE Advanced and in line with the decision taken for the last academic year, it has been decided to waive off the 75% marks (in class 12 exam) eligibility criteria under Joint Entrance Examination (Main) for the next academic year 2021-2022 n respect of NITs, IIITs, SPAs and other CFTIs, whose admissions are based on JEE (Main).”
As per the official notification, the JEE Main 2021 will be conducted four times a year. This year the exam is scheduled to be held in the month of February, March, April, and May. Candidates can visit jeemain.nta.nic.in the official website to check the detailed information about JEE Main.
Previously, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also announced that the JEE Advanced 2021 exam will commence on 3 July 2021. He added that the JEE Advanced exam will be conducted by the IIT Kharagpur this year. He also mentioned that the top 2.5 lakh candidates will be eligible for admission to the IIT’s.
