The National Testing Agency (NTA) withdrew the JEE Main 2021 information brochure after the Union Education Ministry informed that dates for the exam have not been finalized yet. On 15 December 2020, NTA released the information brochure for the engineering entrance exam on jeemain.nta.nic.in the official website, with a detailed schedule but following the clarification from the ministry, the brochure was withdrawn later.
JEE Main 2021 in Four Sessions
After the Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ hinted about the exams being held four-time, NTA made an official announcement regarding the same stating that the exam will be held in four sessions starting in February 2021. The decision was taken to provide students with multiple opportunities to improve their scores in the examination if they fail to give their best in the first attempt without wasting a whole academic year. The students will get the first-hand experience of the changes in the exam in the first attempt and the experience will help them in realizing their mistakes, which they can improve on in the next sessions.
Clarity Required on Language and Exam Date
In the brochure released yesterday, NTA mentioned that the JEE Main exam will be held in 13 languages. The exam was to be conducted in English, Hindi, and Urdu all over the country while regional languages were to be introduced in specific states. The newly introduced languages included Bengali for West Bengal, Tripura and Andaman and Nicobar Island; Assamese for examination centres of Assam; and Gujarati for Gujarat, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. However, the official site took down both the registration announcement, as well as the information bulletin containing language details by 7 PM IST. Therefore, there is still no clarity on the same.
