The National Testing Agency has postponed the JEE Main 2021, which was scheduled from 27 April 2021 to 30 April 2021. The decision to postpone the exam was taken in light of the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases and because of the safety of the students in the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. The new exam dates for the April session will be released 15 days prior to the commencement of the exam.
Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Education Minister of Indi, tweeted, “Given the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, I have advised NTA to postpone the JEE Main 2021 April session. I would like to reiterate the safety of our students and their academic careers and my prime concerns right now,”.
The first two sessions of JEE Main 2021 were conducted by the National Testing Agency in February and March respectively. A total of 620978 candidates appeared for the exam for the February session while and 556248 candidates for the 2nd session. Candidates are advised to keep preparing for the exam and keep checking the official website of the National Testing Agency to get updates regarding the new exam dates.
