Post the announcement by the Union HRD Ministry, a special help desk for the students was set up by IIT Bhubaneswar along with special bus service.
The help desk will be operating from an E-class room and Lab Complex (LBC), located in the permanent campus of IIT, Bhubaneswar. The objective of the help desk is to facilitate the students from the state to register online for the JEE (Advanced) 2019 Exam. The payment registration, on the other hand, can be made between May 10 up and May 15 respectively. This facility will come extremely handy to those who do not have proper resources and facilities to register by themselves. The 5-day extension has come as a breather for the JEE Advanced aspirants.
The State of Odisha was recently ravaged by cyclone ‘Fani’ that caused insurmountable damage to infrastructure and vegetation. This resulted in individuals of the state surviving without water, electricity, food and mobile connectivity. The director at IIT Bhubaneswar said that they could restore all the facilities including internet needed for the registration through the special helpdesk.
The State government has also introduced a special bus service from the capital city to the IIT campus for the candidates. The buses will commence at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm from the Patia Square station. The returning buses from campus will be available at 12 noon, 4 pm and 6 pm respectively.
