ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020: Online Registration Started at isro.gov.in

The second session of ISRO “Young Scientist Programme” “YUva VIgyani KAryakram”  will be conducted in May this year. The programming spanning two weeks will be conducted during the summer holidays from May 11th to 22nd 2020. Interested students can register online from Feb 3rd(2:00 PM) till 24th Feb 2020(6:00 PM) through ISRO official website- isro.gov.in

Provisionally selected candidates will be asked to upload attested copies of the relevant certificates on or before 23rd March 2020 and the final list of selected candidates’ will be asked to do so, on 30th Mar 2020. 

Eligibilty

Candidates who completed the 8th standard and candidates’ who are pursuing their 9th standard studies(in the academic year 2019-20) are eligible to apply for “YUVIKA” programme. 

Students studying in India including OCI(Overseas Citizen of India), can apply for the programme. ISRO has alloted 5 additional seats for OCI applicants.

Prizes won at school events conducted by the School or Education board starting at district level will be considered (from the year 2016).

Winners of  District/State/National/International Level sports activities conducted by School or Education board from the year 2016 onwards (The higher level will be considered for weightage)

Scouts and Guides/NCC/NSS Member – during the current academic year (2019-20)

Candidates studying in schools located in rural areas have the mentioned weightage. (Certificate of proof to this has to be produced from the head of the school)

About YUVIKA

The Program is intended to induce basic knowledge of Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to school-going students and hence increase their aptitude in the field. The programme spanning two weeks duration includes invited talks, experience sharing by eminent scientists, exclusive sessions for discussions with experts, facility and lab visits, practical and feedback sessions. Three students from each State/Union Territory will be selected to participate in the program. Students from CBSE, ICSE and State syllabuses can apply for the programme.
