AIIMS has rescheduled the date of the July 2021 INI CET for PG courses, via a notice on 27 May 2021. According to the aforementioned notice, the INI CET would be conducted on 16 June 2021.
Doctors across India did not seem to welcome this announcement. They have expressed their dissatisfaction en masse. As a result, the hashtag #postponeINICET is now trending on Twitter. The doctors demand that AIIMS postpone INI CET and give at least one month of prior notice regarding the exam. This is to ensure that they have sufficient time to prepare. However, there has been no response from AIIMS regarding the postponement of INI CET following this outcry. A large portion of the public believes the rescheduling of the examination doesn’t favour doctors as they face harsh conditions in their professional lives. Therefore, many have stepped up on social media to support this cause.
We can note that AIIMS did conduct the INI CET in 2020 despite the pandemic. However, many candidates at the time deemed this unfair. In their latest announcement, AIIMS has rescheduled the INI CET. The entrance exam will be held as an online computer-based test (CBT) mode on 16 June 2021. PG medical candidates can complete their final registration process by 2 June 2021. As per the revised schedule, candidates who have completed their registration will be able to download the admit card on 9 June 2021.
