Following the sixth milestone achieved by IIT Delhi in the form of School of Artificial Intelligence, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has established its very own laboratory of Data Analytics, Risk and Technology (DART). The lab was established on Thursday, i.e., 3 September 2020, by the American Express. The primordial aim of this lab is to promote talent and diversity, said a statement from the institute.

What is the Motto of IIT Madras DART Lab?

The DART lab aims to be a world-class hub of research in risk analytics and behavioral sciences. It will use machine learning, artificial intelligence (ML/AI), and related technologies.

    “Ambition Awards” for Women

The American Express has promised scholarships for deserving students to encourage them towards the path of millennial India. The scholarships will be annual and will prioritize the students belonging to the economically weaker sections of India. Moreover, a particular scheme of scholarships for women was also proposed tiled “Ambition Awards.” These are exclusive to encourage female candidates in the stream of research and development.

“The scholarships and awards will encourage our women students to excel in STEM and pursue enriching careers at the post-graduate level. We look forward to continued support from American Express for growing these efforts in the coming years,” said Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras, speaking at the inauguration of the event.

India Towards a Millennial Technology Hub

The efforts and milestones achieved by prominent institutions like IIT Delhi and IIT Madras are an onset towards wheeling India in the path of the millennial technological hub. India being a primarily agronomic society, has always emphasized strengthening its backbone, i.e., Agriculture. But with these small steps, India is advancing towards a global technological nation, so that it can be at par with the world-class institutions.
