
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India released a Gazette Notification regarding the regulations to be made in student registration, examination, enrollment for CS exams in 2020. According to the notification, CS Foundation programme will no longer continue and existing students who have enrolled in foundation program shall be allowed to appear in the examinations till the expiry of their registrations.
From now on, CSEET (CS Executive Entrance Test) will act as the mandatory qualifying test for students to register for Executive Programme, except for a few exempted categories. Graduates or Post Graduates seeking to register directly for the Executive programme are also required to qualify for CSEET.
The cut-off dates for registration to the Executive Programme and Professional Programme for appearing in the Company Secretaries Examinations, tentative schedule for conducting CS Executive Entrance Test and revised fee structure for registration to Executive Programme have also changed under the new regulations. CSEET
Exam Pattern
CSEET will have four sections for four different topics. They are:
- Paper 1: Business Communication
- Paper 2: Legal Aptitude & Logical Reasoning
- Paper 3: Economic and Business Environment
- Paper 4: Current Affairs, Presentation and Communication Skills
CSEET will be conducted in computer-based mode and comprises of MCQs, audio clips, video clips and descriptive questions. The duration of CSEET shall be 135 minutes (120 Minutes for MCQ test and 15 minutes for Viva-Voce) and there will be no negative marking.
Qualifying Marks
An aggregate of 50% and minimum 40% marks in each subject will be the qualifying criteria for CSEET.
Exemption
The following categories of students are excluded from qualifying in CSEET and can seek registration directly to the Executive programme
