ICSE, ISC Exams Postponed; Class 10th Students Given 2 Options

CISCE Postpones ICSE, ISC Exams; Class 10 Students Given 2 Options

According to the latest updates, after the CBSE Board exam announcement, ICSE and ISC exams have been postponed as well. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) released a notice stating the postponement of the exam.

For class 12th, CISCE has said that they have postponed the exam for now and any decision upon the conduct of the exam will be taken after reviewing the situation on 1 June 2021. For class 10th, CISCE has provided the students with two options – either take up the exam with class 12 or not take the exam at all.

If the student chooses the second option, he/she will surely be promoted based on a further criterion which the CISCE board will develop later. However, students must note that the class 12th exam has not been cancelled and will be conducted later.

The decision came amidst the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases all across the country. Several states have imposed restrictions, curfews and lockdowns. In such a scenario, conducting the exam would not have been apt both for the health and safety of the students and invigilators.

Earlier, CISCE had announced that it was putting the ICSE and ISC Board exams on hold because of rising cases. However, on 16 April 2021, the Board announced that the exams have been postponed after relating an official notification stating the same.
