ICAR NET 2019 Exam Application Process Begins

NTA Postpones UGC NET 2020, To be Held from 24th September

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in an official notification has commenced the application process for the 2019 edition of the National Eligibility Test (NET)

Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) will be conducting the ICAR NET 2019 exam will be held on December 9, 2019, and December 15, 2019. The examination is conducted determine eligibility of candidates for lecturer or assistant professor in State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs).

The test will be a computer based test and will be conducted in 32 centres across India. The application and registration process will conclude at 5 pm IST on November 4, 2019.

One of the key eligibility criteria to apply for the exam is that the candidates must have a master’s degree in a relevant discipline and specialization, and the same should be completed by November 4, 2019. The lower age cap limit to apply for the NET exam is 21 years of age as on July 1, 2019 respectively. Although, there is no upper age limit to apply.

The ICAR National Eligibility Test will have 150 multiple choice questions for a total of 150 marks. It will be a 2 hours long paper with each question of one mark. Negative marking will be 1/3. Minimum marks required to qualify ICAR NET exam is 75 marks (that is 50%).

ICAR NET 2019 Application Process 

The steps to be followed to apply for ICAR NET 2019 exam online are as follows

  • Go to the official exam website asrb.org.in
  • On the homepage, select ‘online application form for ICAR NET’ link
  • Complete the registration process by clicking on ‘new registration’ option
  • Enter the generated login credentials and fill the form
  • upload the required images and documents in correct format
  • Make the examination fee payment and hit submit
  • print out the acknowledge for future reference/use 

Note – The fee to be paid by general category students is 1000 INR. For EWS and OBC candidates, it is 500 INR and for the SC/ST and women candidates it is 250 INR respectively.

Two scanned copies required include one copy of recent passport size photograph taken against white background of a maximum size of 150 kb in jpg format only with the face covering at least 2/3rd of the total space and taken without spectacles. The second one will be a scanned copy of signatures taken in black/blue ink on a white paper only in .jpg format only. 

Have payment options ready between debit card, credit card, internet banking for online fee payment. Candidate should also have valid email ID to apply for ICAR NET 2019 examination.
