Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test (HTET) is a state level eligibility exam which falls under the umbrella category of SET (State Eligibility Test) or SLET (State Level Eligibility Test). Haryana Board of Secondary Education (HBSE) is the governing body which is responsible for conducting the test every year for the prospective candidates. Every Indian state conducts SLET exam in order to recruit teachers for their state government schools. The exam is designed to be conducted for three categories of teachers; PRT (Primary Teacher), TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher), and PGT (Post Graduate Teacher).
The exam is conducted in two phases; Paper 1 is for classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is for classes 6 to 8. It is considered to be a favorable career option by most scholars in India. A state government lecturer has the same pay scale as any central government employee. The syllabus is set in accordance with the Center Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) set by MHRD and remains of the tough exams to crack. Shortlisted candidates are advised to thoroughly read the rules and regulations issued by HBSE for bio metric verification to avoid any future confusion.
