On 30 September 2020, IIT Madras declared the HSEE 2020 result. The result has been declared online on hsee.iitm.ac.in the official website for the examination which was conducted on 9 September 2020. Candidates can check their results by entering their email/login id and password. The IIT HSEE result 2020 was released in the form of a merit list comprising the qualified candidates’ ranks. Candidates can also download their offer letter for admissions along with the merit list from the official website.

It must be noted that the minimum marks required for qualifying the exam have been revised and reduced for all categories by the IIT Madras for 2020. To be eligible for the IIT HSEE exam 2020, candidates in the general/common category need to have at least 45 per cent marks. The general-EWS and OBC-NCL category require a minimum of 40.5 per cent marks. While SC and ST must secure at least 22.5 per cent marks, and PwD candidates should have a minimum of 22.5 per cent marks in the HSEE 2020 exam. The percentage of marks for general, OBC, SC/ST/PwD categories stood at 50, 45, and 25, respectively earlier.

How to Download the HSEE 2020 Result?

  1. Visit the official website – hsee.iitm.ac.in
  2. Click on the result link provided on the landing page.
  3. You will be redirected to a new window.
  4. Enter your registered email address/login id and password.
  5. Click on ‘Login.’
  6. You will be able to view your result.
  7. Save a copy or take a print out for future reference.

About HSEE 2020

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras, conducts HSEE every year. The test is conducted for admission to a 5-year integrated Master of Arts program at the institute. The total number of seats offered stands at 52, divided equally between M.A. Development Studies and M.A. English program (26 seats each).
