As per the recent updates, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) may announce the schedule for classes 10 and 12 board exams next week. According to the authority, the Gujarat Board is considering two dates, i.e., 10 and 17 May 2021, to commence the board exams. After the confirmation of the dates, the board will announce the examination schedule in the coming week.
The education board has provided data of around 10.24 lakh candidates who will register for the class 10 board exam. Meanwhile, around 1.50 lakh candidates from the science stream and about 5.30 lakh candidates from the general stream of class 12 will register for the board exam. The board had also announced a reduction in syllabus up to 30% due to the pandemic.
The board has also declared that the number of exam centers has also increased. Earlier, a total of 5500 exam centers were used, which has now been increased to 6700. This step has been taken given the COVID-19 pandemic. The increase in the number of exam centers will help follow the government’s specific guidelines.
According to the officials, the board exam format is revised. The revised exam format will be distributed as mentioned, i.e., for class 12, the descriptive type question is awarded 50 percent marks, and MCQ with 50 percent marks. The marks for class 10 of the MCQ type questions are awarded 30%, which is 10% more than the previous year’s format.
