The state government of Gujarat has cancelled the Gujarat class 10 board exam 2021 and decided to give them mass promotion to the next grade. The decision was taken by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani to ensure the safety of the students and prevent the infection of COVID-19 among them.
Authorities have not yet taken any decision regarding students who had failed earlier attempts and were slated to appear for exams this year again. However, it will be taken soon after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the country. Earlier, the state government had promoted students of class 1 to 9 and class 11 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns imposed across the state.
Classes 10 and 12 exams are scheduled to be held between 10 May 2021 and 25 May 2021 by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board (GSEB). And owing to the surge in COVID-19 cases, the government postponed the exam until further notice. However, a decision has been made to cancel the Gujarat class 10 board exam and promote students to the next academic year without holding final exams. However, no decision has been made for the class 12 board exams. The government will announce the final decision for Gujarat class 12 board exams only after considering the COVID-19 situation in the state.
