The SSC (Class 10) Board Exam 2020 and HSSC (Class 12) Board Exam 2020 dates have been announced by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE). Since Goa is in the green zone, the state government has permitted conduct of exams for pending papers for Class 12 and for all subjects of Class 10, when the current phase of lockdown ends. Ramakrishna Samant, Board chairman, said that HSSC examinations would be held from May 20 to May 22 (for the pending papers), while the SSC exams for all papers would commence from May 21 onwards. Goa board usually conducts annual examinations in the months of March-April. Since there are no active coronavirus cases currently, the state falls under the green zone. The board announced the dates after getting permission from the state government. Earlier this week, Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister, had said that HSSC and SSC examinations would be held after the phase 3 lockdown ends on May 17.
Earlier, Vandana Rao, Goa Education Minister, had released a circular on March 20, 2020, announcing that due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the country, all examinations for students from classes 9 to 12 which were scheduled to be conducted from March 21, 2020, stood postponed until further orders, including the board exams of class 10 and 12.
