GMAT To Be Held online from April 20

In the view of COVID-19 pandemic, GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) recognised by over 2000 business schools around the globe, will be held online from April 20, 2020. The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) which is the regulating body for conducting the test, announced that the registrations were opened on Tuesday.

Vineet Chabra, GMAT head, was quoted saying that their highest priority was to help students in their pursuit of the right business school and help schools to evaluate best talent. As COVID-19 developed and quickly changed the course of the traditional ways to monitor the exam, they changed their focus to go digital by developing an online testing solution, that enabled business schools and students to evaluate each other during this tough period.

He added that the online version of GMAT will maintain the same standard as that of the traditional method. It will offer a valid and rigorous assessment, with severe security practices and rules specially made for an online proctored environment. The interim GMAT online exam will promote a sense of security to candidates to meet upcoming deadlines and confidently pursue their goals. It will also help business schools across the globe by providing them meaningful ways to evaluate candidates, to grant admissions.

About GMAT

GMAT tests analytical writing and problem-solving abilities of the candidate. It also covers data sufficiency, logic, and critical reasoning skills which is important to real-world business and management success. It can be attempted up to five times a year but no more than 8 times in total and attempts must be at least 16 days apart.

Statistics reveal that more than 7000 programs at 2300 graduate business schools across the world recognise GMAT scores as part of their selection criteria.

The test is conducted at six hundred and fifty test centres across one hundred and fourteen countries. About two lakh candidates participated in 2019.
