The information brochure for the Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE) 2020 is available on the official website for GATE Exam 2020. The information brochure of GATE 2020 will include all the details of the examination to be conducted, the application process, admission process, eligibility criteria, syllabus to be followed for the admissions, the important dates of GATE 2020 and the procedure to be followed after the release of the GATE 2020 Result.
The annual entrance test for the year 2020 will be held from February 01 and February 09 respectively. A summarised gist of the important details mentioned in the brochure has been provided below.
GATE Exam 2020 Eligibility
Candidates applying for GATE 2020 are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed for the different programmes for which the examination are being conducted. Candidates must note that it is mandatory for the candidates to fulfil the eligibility criteria without which the applications will not be considered.
GATE 2020 Application Process
IIT Delhi will release application form on September 3, 2019. Candidates can visit the official website and fill in the GATE Application Form and submit it before October 24, 2019 if not candidates will have to pay a Late Fee of 500 INR. More details regarding Application Form are given in the following section.
GATE 2020 Exam Pattern Criteria
The GATE 2020 Exam Question paper will be designed to test the following abilities of the candidates:
Difficulty level: The candidate is expected to be able to arrive at an answer either from his/her memory or through computation which does not exceed at most one line. The GATE 2020 questions are based on facts, principles, formulae or laws in the respective discipline of the paper.
Application skills: GATE 2020 Question papers are designed in such a way that the candidates are expected to apply their knowledge either through computation or through logical reasoning.
Comprehension: These questions are designed to test the aspirant’s understanding of the basics of the field that he or she has chosen. Also, it demands the quality to draw conclusions from fundamental ideas.
Analysis and Synthesis: Synthesis questions are designed to compare two or more pieces of information before answering. GATE 2020 candidates are presented with images, data diagrams etc which require analysis before answering it.
About GATE 2020 Examination
Nearly 80 Indian colleges (IITs, NITs & other govt. funded institutions) offers post-graduate degree through GATE 2020. The primary purpose of the GATE exam is to test the candidate’s knowledge of his Under Graduate Engineering and Science Subjects. Aspirants who qualify in this test are eligible to get admission into the M.Tech and M.Sc courses in various institutes across India.
Every year over 10 lakh candidates appear for the engineering entrance exam of which only 15 to 17% candidates qualify. It is a national level engineering entrance test that is conducted for 25 papers and subjects across different cities in the country and six cities outside India namely Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE, and Ethiopia respectively.
