GATE 2021 Update: Apply Before 30 September 2020 to Avoid Paying Late Fee

The Indian Institute of Technology or IIT Bombay has started the GATE 2021 registration process online. The official notification, which was released earlier, contains the GATE 2021 schedule and essential guidelines for filling out the application form. Interested candidates must visit the official website – to fill out the application form.

The deadline to fill out the form is 30 September 2020, without any applicable late fee. But if candidates cross the deadline, a late fee of INR 500/- will be levied on them along with the usual application fee until 7 October 2020. The examination is scheduled to begin from 5 February 2021 to 14 February 2021. The results are expected to be released on 22 March 2021. Candidates can refer to the steps mentioned below to fill the application form if they already haven’t done so.

Steps to Fill GATE 2021 Application Form

  1. Visit the official website –
  2. Scroll down a bit and click on the “New User? Register Here” link.
  3. Register by entering your name, email Id, phone number, and set a password.
  4. Once done, log in again using the credentials.
  5. Enter the particulars.
  6. Upload the asked documents in the correct format.
  7. Pay the application fee.
  8. Take a print out of the application form for future reference.

Candidates must keep in mind that the most crucial step while filling in the GATE 2021 application form, i.e., the uploading of documents in the correct format. In case the documents you are trying to upload does not match the given requirements, the application wouldn’t process further.
