Exam Analysis of GATE Exam Conducted on 13 February 2021

The GATE examinations conducted on 13 February 2021 consisted of two slots, i.e., Forenoon session (9.30 am to 12.30 pm) and the Afternoon session (3 pm to 6 pm). The examination was conducted smoothly without any problem in the online portal or exam interface. The question paper format was also similar to that of the past year question papers. There were 65 questions in total; the majority of them were NAT questions, and the remaining were Multiple Choice types.

Paper Analysis GATE 2021 (Slot 1):

The first slot consists of papers Computer Science and Information Technology (CS-1), Mathematics (MA), Biotechnology (BT), Chemical Engineering (CH), Textile Engineering and Fibre Science (TF).

  • The difficulty level was moderate to difficult
  • ¬†As NAT questions were more than MCQ, the paper was more of an application-based approach.
  • ¬†Students said they needed to be prepared more for this year’s paper than the last year examinations.

Paper Analysis GATE 2021 (Slot 2):

The second slot consisted of papers of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS-2), Engineering Sciences (XE), Life Sciences (XL)

  • The difficulty level was easy to moderate
  • The examination was lengthy to solve
  • Their number of multiple-choice questions is higher than that of numerical answer types.
