The process reportedly will commence after the Lok Sabha Election results are announced on the 23rd of May. The admission process will mostly last till the end of May followed by the first cut off list being announced on the 14th of June 2019.

The University had earlier decided to conduct a common admission exam for both UG and PG courses. However, the university now is mulling about holding separate tests for admissions. The process for UG courses in all likelihood begins on the 24th May 2019. On the other hand, for the PG courses, it is expected to commence on the 21st of May 2019.

The committee is yet to finalize the exam pattern and policy decisions. The probable date of starting the process is continuously being extended as the preparation for the admission process has not completed yet. Also, the process of conducting the entrance exam for different professional courses is likely to begin towards the end of May. The Delhi University will be offering around 56,000 seats in UG and 9,500 seats in PG courses respectively.

As always, the admission process for most UG courses will be on the basis of merit. The university will conduct entrance tests for courses such as BA (Honours) Business Economics, Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis), B.Tech (IT and Mathematical Innovations), Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports, BA (Honours) Multimedia and Mass Communication, a 5-year journalism programme and many other programs.

Some of the others sops which await a green signal include special deprivation points to students from government school and rural backgrounds along with an increase in the ward quotas for teaching and non-teaching staff whilst taking Hindi into consideration for exams along with English.

The University reiterated that it will be considering taking the help of the National Testing Agency (NTA) for entrance test and subsequent admission process. The previous year, however, the admission process began on the 20th May 2018.
