Delhi Government has assured that results for classes 9th and 11th will be declared within 3-days of the lifting of lockdown. This detail was confirmed in a live session by Delhi’s Education Director Binay Bushan. On April 4, 2020, a live session was conducted by the Delhi Chief Minister to answer the doubts of students and parents and to relieve them out of anxiety owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. Delhi Chief Minister along with deputy CM Manish Sisodia, participated in the session. One of the student raised a query on declaration of results for classes IX and XI during the live session, for which Education Director Binay Bushan responded.
During the live session, a student enquired the possibility of conducting those exams for classes IX and XI which were cancelled due to lockdown for which Binay Bhushan Director of education answered that only a few exams were to be conducted. It has been decided that they would be following the promotional policy like CBSE and that results would be announced in a few days, once the lockdown is released on April 14, 2020. He further added that Results for classes IX and XI would be based on exams conducted already.
Mr. Binay Bhushan outlined in detail about the promotional formula to be followed to release the CBSE result for class 9 and 12. He said that an average of the exams that were held for classes 9 and 11 would be considered for arriving at the final result. Apart from this, the internal assessment marks will also be taken into account for the preparation of final result. He stressed that since the promotional policy is based on project work and internal assessment, it would be easy for schools to declare the results very soon after the lockdown is lifted. The Education Department will soon notify the students about the announcement of results.
