The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to conduct the CTET 2020 on 31 January 2021. The board has adopted the principle of “safety first” amid the COVID-19 pandemic for the commencement of the examination. The authority has also decided to allocate the exam centres to the candidates near their homes.
The admit cards for the CTET exam will be available starting next week. The examination was scheduled to be held in July 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. The board has created more examination centres in 23 cities for the convenience of the candidates.
Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Union Education Minister, mentioned that the CTET exam would be conducted on 31 January considering all the precautionary measures for the ongoing pandemic. He added that the candidates are given the facility to choose the location of the examination centre.
The ministry mentioned “Safety first, then education’… there will be no compromise with the safety of the students. The safety of the students will be strictly ensured before taking any step. The student can only be present in class or can appear for exams only in a safe environment.”
The authority has also announced the dates for JEE advanced 2021 exam which will be held on 3 July 2021. The examination will be held in the computer-based test (CBT) mode. This year the eligibility criteria of obtaining 75% marks for IITs has been removed due to the pandemic.
