The CSIR NET 2021 exam is likely to be deferred to the middle of July as announced by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research today on 22 April 2021 due to rising COVID-19 cases across the nation.
The Human Resource Development Group tweeted, “Due to the uncertainties posed by the pandemic, the CSIR-NET exam is likely to be deferred to at least the middle of July 2021. We cannot hold the exam putting people at risk.”
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the exam twice every year. However, due to the on going pandemic, the exam was held only once last year. And, this year, the exam process is yet to begin. Till now CSIR has postponed the exam until further notice.
About CSIR NET 2021
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET) is a National Level Entrance Examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency twice every year usually in the month of June and December. This national level exam determines the eligibility of the candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship/Assistant Professor in various Indian Universities.
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria to appear for the exam. Candidates who have acquired a Bachelor’s degree can appear for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) and not LS (Lectureship).
