The higher education department of Haryana, on the consent of the Haryana government, has allowed the universities and colleges to begin operation from 26 September 2020. The attempt will be a trial run that would test the feasibility of the effort. The attempt is being taken as per ‘Unlock 4’ under which the government of India has allowed the schools and colleges to resume operation, maintaining all the COVID-19 protocols.
In the communication, dated 22 September 2020, the higher education department has directed all the universities and colleges of the state to complete all safety protocols related to COVID-19 and communicate the same to the authorities by Friday. After reviewing the position, the administration will allow the educational institutions to function.

Schools Also Resume Classes
A letter from the Director-General of the department refers to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines wherein students from standards 9 to 12 are allowed to visit schools from 21 September 2020 voluntarily for taking guidance from their teachers with their parent’s consent.
Earlier, the Bihar government had released an official notification, allowing the schools to resume classes from 23 September 2020 for standards 9 to 12. No student or staff from the containment zone will be allowed to attend the class, whereas only fifty per cent of the staff will be functional at a time.
Although many other states are considering resuming the classes in schools and other educational institutions, the COVID-19 cases are recording new high daily. In such a scenario, it is less likely that the parents would consent to send their wards to school.
