Going by the latest update, the Consortium of National Law Universities has decided to postpone the CLAT 2021 exam. The exam was earlier scheduled for 9 May 2021 but has now been postponed to 13 June 2021. On 6 January 2021, the Consortium’s Executive Committee gathered for a meeting in which the decision to postpone the exam was taken. In a detailed notification, released by the consortium, the decision to postpone the Common Law Admission Test was confirmed.
CLAT 2021 Postponed to Avoid Clash with CBSE Exams
Union Education Minister Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal recently announced exam dates for the CBSE Board exam 2021 which is scheduled to be conducted in the month of May 2021. Therefore, to avoid any clash with the CBSE board exams, the CLAT UG and CLAT PG exams have been postponed and rescheduled for 13 June 2021.
The official notification reads,
“Executive Committee of the Consortium of National Law Universities met on 6th January, 2021 to consider rescheduling the date of the CLAT exam due to clashes with the CBSE Board examination schedule announced last week. The date 13th for CLAT has been rescheduled to Sunday, the 13th June, 2021 from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM. The UG and LL.M. exams shall be conducted on this date.”
