The CGBSE class 10 exams have been cancelled and the CGBSE class 12 exams postponed by the Chhattisgarh board. The decision has been taken amid a constant rise in the COVID-19 cases in the country and the state. Chhattisgarh class 10 board exams were scheduled from 15 April 2021 to 1 May 2021. In contrast, the class 12 CGBSE board exams were scheduled from 3 May 2021 to 24 May 2021. The former has been cancelled while the latter stands postponed.
For the class 10 students, the promotion criteria will be based upon their internal assessment marks. Students who may not be satisfied with their marks will have the option to appear at a later date. As per a report of The Indian Express, secretary of CGBSE, VK Goyal, said that if a student has not completed the assignment work or has not achieved the minimum marks required, such students will be awarded passing marks.
Meanwhile, Bhupesh Baghe, the chief minister of Chattisgarh, stated, “Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Raipur has cancelled the examinations of class 10th, because of the current situation of Corona epidemic.” Once the situation normalizes, a revised datasheet will be released after the proper review of the situation at that time.
