The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recommended starting the academic session 2021-22 for class 9th and 11th from 1 April 2021. The board has already rescheduled the examinations for class 10th and 12th due to the COVID-19 situation. However, the board doesn’t want to delay in starting the new academic session for 9th and 11th.
Schools were shut down in March 2020, some of them partially reopened in October 2020, but many schools remained shut in different states. The shutting down of schools and online education did set up a bridge gap between students and learning. To acknowledge all students and know their efficiency of learning, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) requested schools to examine students, which will help identify the learning gap that could be addressed in the upcoming academic session.
“The academic session will start on 1 April to the extent feasible subject to instruction of the state government”, the circular reads. It is strictly said that everyone should follow COVID-19 protocols while holding examinations/classes. Teachers can focus on each student and resolve their doubts in new academic sessions.
The schools are asked to make all necessary arrangements and welcome all students face to face. Schools have been now opened in many states due to the improvement of the COVID-19 situation, and it is expected other states and union territories will also reopen schools. Reopening of school will also help students to complete their practicals. The practicals for 10th and 12th would be conducted from 1 March 2021 to 11 June 2021. It is also said that all the schools under CBSE must ensure to complete practical before 11 June 2021.
Moreover, CBSE has also extended the registration dates for private candidates of class 10th and 12th board exam 2021. Candidates who did not register can submit the forms between 22 February 2021 to 25 February 2021.
