The Central Board of Secondary Education has extended the application submission dates for private candidates of CBSE Class 10 and 12. Candidates who have already submitted their applications can also make the corrections in the forms from 10 to 14 December 2020. Candidates can apply online at cbse.nic.in and make corrections in their earlier submitted application forms.

Earlier, the last date to submit the application form for private candidates was 11 November 2020 with normal fees and 21 November 2020 with late fees. Many candidates had requested the board to extend the deadline to submit applications.
Eligibility Criteria to Appear as a Private Candidate
Just four days left to register for the CBSE class 10 and 12 board exams 2021 and it is imperative that candidates who want to appear for the same check their eligibility criteria to avoid any last-minute hiccups. Only those candidates who qualify the following eligibility criteria will be eligible to appear as a private candidate:
- Students who Failed: Students who failed the February-March CBSE board exam.
- Students with Compartmental Result: Students who have a compartmental result can also appear as a private candidate.
- Students who Passed: Students who cleared the CBSE board exam 2019 which was held in March/July but still want to improve their score can also re-appear as a private candidate.
- Students with Additional Subjects: Students who want to appear for an additional subject are also eligible to appear as a private candidate.
