As per the latest reports, two prominent state universities of West Bengal have declared the final semester results for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The results were released following the deadline mentioned by the University Grants Commission.
According to the official notification, all the universities and colleges must declare the final semester result by 31 October 2020, so that the admission for the fresh batch can begin. The notice also mentioned that the new semester would start immediately after the admission cycle is over, i.e., from 1 November 2020.
Calcutta University Releases UG and PG Final Semester Result
Adhering to the guidelines laid down by the UGC, Calcutta University showed promptness in releasing the final semester result for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The examination schedule was released on the official website for each course/subject in a PDF format. The examinations were conducted in October 2020 in the form of Open Book Examination or OBE. Practical assessments were also undertaken to maintain the authenticity of the examination.
The Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University, Mrs Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee shared that the University has done its best to meet the deadline of 31 October 2020 to release the result. According to the statistical data available, approximately 7,500 candidates appeared for the final semester examination. At the same time, the result for the current academic year reflected a similar trend like that of the previous years. Calcutta University will begin the PG admissions from 1 November 2020, as per the official notification. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website regularly for the latest updates.
Rabindra Bharati University Joins the Line
Rabindra Bharati University popularly known as RBU has also released the final semester examination result for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The popular programmes offered by the varsity include; Economics, Geography, Instrumental Music, Percussion, Drama, Mathematics and Social Work, whose results were declared first.
One of the spokespeople of the varsity informed the media that following the latest UGC guidelines, Rabindra Bharati University would also begin the 2020-21 admission cycle from November 2020. RBU hasn’t released any official notification regarding the new admission procedure, but candidates must keep visiting the official website to stay updated.
Presidency University Begins PG Admission
Presidency University, Kolkata has already released the first merit list for provisional admission into various postgraduate courses on its official website. The merit list was compiled on the PUQUOTA which covers approximately 80% seats of the university. The admission cycle has begun as the fee payment option has been made available to the qualified candidates from today, i.e., 29 October 2020.
