
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has ended the open book examination system and declared that no books, notes or study material would be allowed in the examination hall from AIBE 2021 onwards. Candidates are only allowed to carry out Bare Acts and that too without notes.
The BCI made an official announcement- “This is to notify that AIBE-XVI onwards no books, notes or study material will be allowed in the examination hall. Candidates can only carry Bare Acts without notes,”
Previously, the All India Bar Examination used to be an open book exam. Earlier, candidates could carry their study materials to the exam centre. However, the BCI has ended the open-book examination, and the exam will be more challenging compared to previous years.
About AIBE XVI (16) 2021
The AIBE XVI (16) 2021 will be held on 21 March 2021. Candidates can fill out the application form by 21 February 2021 which was released on 26 December 2021. Candidates who qualify for the exam will be awarded a “Certificate of Practice” by the BCI.
The exam is conducted to measure the candidate’s analytical abilities and understanding of their basic knowledge in Law. AIBE is an entrance exam required to study Law in which candidates from the general category must get an aggregate of 40% marks while SC and ST candidates will need to get at least 35% marks.
